Hello Everyone. This week I got the chance to interview “Chanvon Shree” (Chavon Shree Sewell ) a twenty -three year old fashion designer from Conway, AR with an exotic sense of style, an eye for color and an odd taste fabric prints. What stands out about Chavon and her pieces is her desire to go above and beyond your ordinary dress to give you a look worth taking a second glance. Chavon says that her clothes could be best described as eclectic … others might describe them as “bold”, “daring” , and even “sexy”. Shree said that her desire to pursue clothing sprouted while she was in middle school. There she took a home economics class while in 6th grade. Chavon says that she took a deeper interest in the class than most students and became a natural at hemming, perfecting seams, and bag making. Sewing lead her to study textiles apparel while in college and earn her degree in this field. She launched her collection in 2010 and is taking great strides to making her clothing into a brand label. For now her line is under construction and she is doing sample pieces and fashion shows. Her clothing was featured in this year’s little rock fashion week, the fastest growing fashion week in the U.S. and has been apart of a host of other venues. Chavon plans to have her own store and one day become a major name in the fashion industry. With talent like hers.. it won’t be long.
