AT&T has reportedly paid a hacker approximately $370,000 to delete stolen customer data, according to a recent Wired report. The hacker, associated with the ShinyHunters group, initially demanded $1 million. However, AT&T, negotiating through an intermediary known as Reddington, successfully reduced the ransom amount. The payment was made in bitcoin on May 17th. The hacker provided a video as evidence of the data deletion.
