‘Trump rarely apologizes, although in this case, he should,’ Ailes said. ‘We have never been deterred by politicians or anyone else attacking us for doing our job, much less allowed ourselves to be bullied.’
Donald Trump and Fox News are openly at war again as the channel’s CEO called the Republican front-runner’s latest attack on anchor Megyn Kelly disturbing – and The Donald immediately swung back.
Trump repeated a claim on Twitter Monday night that Kelly is a ‘bimbo,’ and Fox chief Roger Ailes demanded an apology on Tuesday after the billionaire leveled a new series of attacks on Kelly during her first show following a lengthy break.
‘I liked The Kelly File much better without @megynkelly,’ Trump tweeted while she as on the air. ‘Perhaps she could take another eleven day unscheduled vacation!’
Ailes fired back Tuesday afternoon, saying in a statement that ‘Donald Trump’s surprise[d] and unprovoked attack on Megyn Kelly during her show last night is as unacceptable as it is disturbing.’
‘Donald Trump rarely apologizes, although in this case, he should,’ Ailes said in a statement read on-air by news anchor John Scott.
