Cosplay by it’s simplest definition is someone dressing up as their favorite character….think of it as a bonus Halloween, but it is so much more than that. Cosplayers slave away at making their cosplay outfits for weeks or even months.
They take pride in getting every possible detail right. Most cosplay is of Anime characters but it isn’t limited to this. There are also cosplay of video game characters, movie character, pop culture icons and also some pretty inventive original characters.
For most cosplayers cosplaying is an all weekend event. They get to the con and change into their outfits and stroll around the convention with pride, showing off their hard work. The effort isn’t wasted, there are thousands of people walking around that will stop a cosplayer and ask them to pose for pictures.
