TEXARKANA, Ark. — An investigation into the theft of approximately $7,200 worth of commercial refrigerant from a Texarkana Walmart led to the arrest of a 26-year-old suspect in South Texas, according to the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department.
Officers responded to the Walmart at 133 Arkansas Boulevard at about 11:39 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, 2026, after a theft was reported. Investigators said someone forced entry into a secured area containing the store’s refrigeration equipment, damaging a gate and door frame before taking the refrigerant.
After reviewing surveillance footage and conducting additional investigative work, officers identified Adrain Quevedo as the suspect. Investigators also developed information connecting him to similar commercial burglaries in the Little Rock area, involving more than $25,000 in stolen materials, police said.
TAPD obtained an arrest warrant charging Quevedo with commercial burglary and theft of property valued at more than $5,000. Later that day, law enforcement officers located him in South Texas and took him into custody on the warrant. Officers also found stolen property in his possession, resulting in an additional arrest for possession of stolen property.
The department said the investigation involved cooperation between law enforcement agencies across jurisdictional boundaries.
All charges are allegations. Quevedo is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
