Since 1986 when The Ninja Crew (Gregory D, Sporty T, Kenny D, and DJ Baby T) released “We Destroy” and “Baby T Rock”, they had no idea of how their creative contribution would build an everlasting cultural movement in New Orleans. Since 1991 when TT Tucker and DJ Irv released “Where Dey At” and DJ Jimi accentuated with “The Original Where They At”, they had no idea of how their unique installments would cultivate a new sub-genre now referred to as “Bounce” and “American Bounce”.

The evolution occurred. No Limit Records became a mainstay nationally. Cash Money Records did the same. National artists Beyonce’, Cardi B, Drake, Lil Duval, City Girls, Travis Porter, Chris Brown, and many more collaborated with New Orleans sound. Now in 2026, a monumental moment is happening in the Big Easy. This is a celebration well earned. With movements like Motown, The Harlem Renaissance, and Miami Bass, New Orleans cements itself as having the flavor that millions of people desire.
Currently, New Orleans is making noise with La Reezy and his new album release, “Skiddle Bandana”. Late June, La Reezy was added to XXL’s 2026 Freshman Class, and he announced his album tour.
In the world of film, Grammy nominated songwriter and former No Limit Artist Fiend released part 1 of his docuseries, “The Baddest Alive” on Tubi. The raspy voice lyricist captures his first moments in hip hop and how he progressed to signing a deal with No Limit Records.
Fiend’s documentary is a very powerful delivery because No Limit and Cash Money have an awaited upcoming collaborative tour starting in September.
Master P recently did interviews on Angela Yee’s “Way Up” podcast and with Charlemagne on “The Breakfast Club” where he discussed the tour, his biopic, mental health, and gave flowers to Donald “XL” Robertson for his production and engineering contributions.
XL owns XL Distribution and continues to release music as well as serve as the distributor for Devious, Ray J, Blaqnmild, Raekwon, and many more.
Award winning songwriter Devious got the ball rolling with his recent release “Paradise” which was produced by DeeDay. Paradise is a summertime anthem and leads the way for his upcoming mixtape “Memories 4”. Now playing on Q93, Devious and DeeDay stamp the sound of The Bounce Factory. Devious is also curating and fostering the movement with informational music industry videos and artist development.
The momentum is rising and it appears New Orleans won’t be slowing down anytime soon. The Heat Magazine will keep our readers updated on the #4035 movement.
