MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A Memphis woman has been arrested on charges of extensive shoplifting, with investigators alleging she stole roughly $16,000 worth of merchandise in a spree targeting multiple stores across the city.
Charity Evans, 23, was apprehended on Tuesday following an investigation revealing a series of alleged thefts between September 3 and November 4. According to police, Evans committed at least 22 shoplifting incidents at 17 different stores within Memphis over the two-month period.
Authorities say Evans was wanted by the Memphis Police Department as well as other jurisdictions in the area, with multiple warrants for shoplifting in Shelby County.
