The man behind The Fugees classic 1996 video for “Killing Me Softly” is going to prison for a long time. The director, Aswad Ayinde, allegedly fathered six kids with three of his own daughters, and was subsequently sentenced to 50 years on Friday. Ayinde had already received a 40-year sentence almost two years ago.

“I can’t describe how much you hurt me and my sisters,” said Ayinde’s 35-year-old daughter in court on Friday.

Ayinde surprisingly responded with, “You should’ve told the truth instead of lying,” which the judge immediately him for. In the eyes of the judge and the 12 jurors, she was telling the truth.

Ayinde delivered the six children himself, and allegedly buried two of them without ever notifying anyone of their existence.
