Three people were found shot to death in a car parked at Columbia University in Morningside Heights.
A passerby found the victims in the car at around 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
The passerby saw two men in the front seat hunched over, believed them to be dead and called 911. A third man was found dead in the back seat behind the front passenger.
The car is a newly registered 2012 BMW 750Li. It was legally parked on the north side of the street, across from the Knox Academic Building.
Claremont Ave and Broadway. The temporary plates do not match the car they should be assigned to.
The windows of the car are tinted, so police are trying to determine how long the bodies have been in there for.
The victims, all black males of unknown age, appear to have been shot. They were all wearing white t-shirts that were drenched in blood.
The passenger in the front seat was wearing a Yankees baseball cap.
