George Zimmerman has been in hiding since his acquittal of murder earlier this month, and almost nobody has seen him out and about. Last week, however, he made his reappearance in heroic fashion.

According to Sanford Police Department Capt. Jim McAuliffe, Zimmerman rescued an unidentified family from their overturned SUV. When firefighters reported to the scene, the driver told them, “George Zimmerman pulled me out.”

The crash happened July 17 around 5:45 pm, with two parents and two children inside the vehicle. Zimmerman acted on the scene with another man who also helped pull the family out.
