In an interview with XXL Mag, music producer Mars, from the production team ‘1500 Or Nothin’ confirms that he’s currently working with Will Smith on his comeback album. The Fresh Prince may be old news to some but he’s always been one of hip hop’s most celebrated artists. Deciding to put his acting career also is a true testament to his love for music; Im sure this new album will have alot to offer.
But it doesnt stop there, Mr. Mars definitely has his hands full for the next several months. He will also be heavily involved in the production of rapper T.I.‘s next album, upon his release from prison later this month. Ashanti, Wiz Khalifa, and Mario are a few other names that are dropped in the interview. The producer’s latest work has been on The Game’s “The R.E.D. Album”, producing 4 tracks and Executive Producing the project.
— “We’re working on Tip, we’re working on the High School movie with Snoop and Wiz Khalifa. We’re working on Will Smith, bringing him back. That’s actually him on the other line right now. Snoop’s daughter, we just put out her first single. We’re doing the whole album. Mario wants me to d a mixtape with him, we’re working on that. I’m working on Ashanti. We’re just working on as much as possible.”
I think It’s farrrrrrr past Will’s rapping time. Stick to acting and getting naked on screen. He had the dopest tracks back in the fresh prince days…. Exactly. I don’t want to get jiggy with him anymore. He should let his incredibly odd daughter take the spotlight. I’d rather watch him “off” himself for a good cause like on Seven Pounds……naked. Sorry.
Ok bye.
It will be interesting to see how Mars will assist Smith in his comeback. I am getting a Ma$e vibe off of the idea of a Fresh Prince re-emergence. Among the many projects that are mentioned in this piece I think that the T.I. (post jail…AGAIN) is the most solid expectation Mars put out there. I may be wrong and Mars may have the R.Kelly touch in helping to revive stars of the past. (i.e. Ron Isley, Charlie Wilson and Whitney Houston) So maybe we should just wait and see… but history has shown that once crossed over it is hard to return to the streets. (i.e. LLCool J, 50 Cent, Nelly, etc)
