Waka Flocka was arrested in Queens, New York on Saturday, but he was released yesterday, according to sources with MTV. The NYPD confirmed that the “No Hands” rapper was cuffed and taken in for Criminal Possession of Marijuana.
Waka, a Queens native and Atlanta resident, was arrested in the parking lot of the Coliseum Mall in Queens. At approximately 5 p.m. ET, the rapper tweeted, “I’m finna jump on my flight 2 Kc ……. sorry 2 da whole m town 4 not coming I had spend a nite n jail with no charge #onlybecauseirap.”
He then followed with, “Can’t no 1 stop with GOD got planned 4me [know that].”
On August 9th, the Brick Squad Monopoly rapper will be releasing his Ferrari Boyz album, a collaboration LP with Gucci Mane. Led by the the single “She Be Puttin’ On,” the 15-track album album also features Tity Boi, Rocko, Frenchie, Slim Dunkin and Wooh Da Kid.
Last year the rapper rose to prominence thanks to his breakout singles “O Let’s Do It,” “Hard in da Paint,” “No Hands” and “Grove St. Party” all from his debut LP Flockaveli.
