PINE BLUFF, AR — A student at the University of Pine Bluff is dead and another seriously hurt after an accident in Pine Bluff Saturday night.
The school announced Balton Coleman died following the incident. Friends say he had just turned 21.
The collision occurred at U.S.63B/ Olive Street and Main Street.
A spokesperson for the Pine Bluff police says a red 2001 Chevrolet Blazer was being pushed south on Olive Street by Coleman and a friend and a female was steering the vehicle.
While the vehicle was being pushed, a maroon 2008 Chevrolet van, also going south on Olive, struck the two men and the rear of the Blazer.
21-year-old Treston Hawkins received severe leg injuries in the accident.
The two drivers received minor injuries.
The investigation of the accident is continuing.
