Together we Thrive: Feeding Hope – A Community United in Service

Providing Hot Meals and Groceries to Families in Need

On Friday, February 7, 2025, our community came together for a meaningful day of giving at the “Together with Thrive: Feeding Hope” food giveback in College Park. This event was a beautiful display of generosity, ensuring that families not only received hot meals but also had access to fresh groceries to take home and cook with.

The giveback featured hot food plates for those who needed a warm meal on-site, as well as a grocery-style setup where community members could select from dry foods, fresh produce, vegetables, and poultry to help feed their families beyond the day’s event. This approach allowed attendees to choose what best suited their household needs, making it more than just a giveaway—it was an opportunity for dignity and nourishment.

A leader who never hesitates to roll up her sleeves and get to work is Mayor Pro Tem Jamelle McKenzie. Her dedication to serving the people of College Park is unwavering. She was right there alongside volunteers, ensuring that food reached those who needed it most. Her hands-on leadership and commitment to community service continue to set an example of what true public service looks like.

We also want to recognize Dwight Howard and his beautiful wife, Amy Luciani, for their unwavering support of the community. Their dedication to service has made them a staple in College Park, consistently stepping up to uplift those in need. Whether through philanthropy, advocacy, or direct action, they continue to show up for the people, reinforcing the importance of giving back and being present for the community. Their generosity and leadership inspire those around them to do the same, making a lasting impact.

This incredible effort was made possible by a network of dedicated partners and supporters. A huge thank you to Food In City, local City of College Park law enforcement, Hotlanta Signs, House of Ramirez, Amazon, Creative Hands LLC, Dapper Impressions, music by DJ Jay AURA, amazing hot food from Nouveau, Preserving Through Purpose, Jay Productions Agency, Code 44, and Mama Chelly’s Tomato Sauce. Your generosity and commitment to serving others helped make this event a success.

A special shoutout goes to Jakeem, whose behind-the-scenes efforts ensured that everything ran smoothly. Your hard work and dedication did not go unnoticed, and we truly appreciate you.

As the CEO of House of Ramirez, I am beyond honored to be part of such a positive movement. Giving back to the community and working alongside incredible leaders and businesses is a privilege that I hold close to my heart. Seeing the smiles, feeling the gratitude, and knowing that we made a difference—that is what true community is all about.

With a heart full of gratitude, I want to thank everyone who showed up, gave back, and helped spread hope. Let’s continue to serve, uplift, and build together!
