A few crafty thieves managed to steal over $65K worth of merchandise from a Brooklyn Best Buy store overnight on Tuesday (Dec. 31st), allegedly drilling a hole in a cinderblock wall in the store’s rear before snatching electronic gear like iPads and iPods.
Cops say the bandits may be part of the “Hole in the Wall Gang” that’s been hitting up string of Best Buys in the area recently. According to police, the thieves carved a precision hole in the wall, giving them access to the store; cops are also investigating whether the thieves used a boat parked in an inlet behind the Best Buy to smuggle out their loot.
“They gained access to the property through either a neighboring property or from the water,” a police source told the Daily News. “It’s still not clear.”
