Nik-O-Licious was able to finally track this 8th Wonder down and here’s what she had to share with The Heat Magazine and her fans.
The Heat: We’re here today live with Butta B-Rocka. Coming to you live from The Heat Magazine once again. Butta, so, what’s happening?
Butta: Everything. Everything is Everything.
The Heat: I see you’ve been busy lady.
Butta: I have been. I can definitely say God has been good! (she giggles in pleasure)
The Heat: All The Time! Long as we can just put food in the pantry we’re okay.
Butta: Yep, yep…exactly.
The Heat: I see you’re all over YouTube. I enjoyed myself on YouTube watching your performances. I had my own full live concert yesterday and today.
Butta: Thank you lady. I believe if you’re gonna do a show, you should give the people what they came to see. I really try to go all out on shows and make them concert form. I don’t like when people just walk back and forth.
The Heat: Naw, Naw, there was no walking back and forth. It was a lot of dropping it like it’s hot!
Butta: (she laughs out loud)
The Heat: So tell us where Ms. Butta B-Rocka started this dream? Where do you reside now?
Butta: I was born in Louisville, Kentucky. I was raised in Tampa, FL. I now reside in Atlanta, GA.
The Heat: How old were you when you first started in the Entertainment Industry?
Butta: I started singing when I was four. I thought I was gonna be the next Diana Ross. My cousins put me in a couple of talent shows when I was young. I had on the wigs and the boas. You couldn’t tell me I wasn’t going to be the next Diana Ross.
The Heat: You still on your way.
Butta: Every Day…Every Day.
The Heat: How do you manage to wear ALL those hats? You’re a mom, a wife, a singer, a dancer, an actress, an entertainer, a writer. I wanna know how you do it all cause I wanna grow up and be just like you!
Butta: (she giggles softly) You know what, shoot I’ve been trying to figure that out myself. (We laugh together) It’s been pretty tough but I have a great foundation behind me. I have a wonderful husband that supports me. Most people don’t even know I’m married. He stays in the background but he is definitely my “Rock”. My mom and my sister they help me out a lot and I don’t know how I do it. You just have to find a way to balance everything that you love. I believe you can have anything you want. You just have to balance everything and go get it.
The Heat: What stage you’ve Rocked has been the most enjoyable?
Butta: You know what, I had a blast at Centennial Park in Atlanta, GA. It was three thousand plus people there. Comedian Wanda Smith was there. I don’t do too many shows here in Atlanta, most of my shows are out of town and it was so good to finally do a show here where I reside, and the crowd was amazing. Even Wanda Smith said on her morning show the next morning, Me and Seven’s show was the best show that has come to Centennial Park since they started having the performances there. I was like wow!…and actually my gig got rained out and Seven was able to add me to his show. So to date, that has to be my most enjoyable, mainly because all my friends and family could see me perform together.
The Heat: Is the Entertainment Industry harder for a female to make it successful today verses when you first began? Or is it just like butta?..(we giggle together)
Butta: Uh, un, man, it’s hard. You have to hustle every single day. No one is just gonna knock on your door. You gotta put in the work, you gotta network, you gotta get out there, and make it happen for yourself. And once you make it happen for yourself, people will start coming to you.
The Heat: Who are other artist you would like to rock the stage with in the future?
Butta: I would love to work with Ludacris, Timberland, Keri Hilson, Brandy, Joe, ooo, there are so many I could name. (she giggles again)
The Heat: What’s on the burner with Butta B-Rocka?
Butta: I’m working on doing a private appreciation show for my fans, family and friends. That’s scheduled for October 20th, I’m working on that now. Something a little up close and personal. And I’m working on some overseas deals right now.
The Heat: Overseas is always a great place for an entertainer to be.
Butta: Definitely! I’ve had several offers but one in particular is looking pretty promising. But you have to stay tuned to get more details.
The Heat: We will be right here, waiting and chilling to see what’s going on. Any shout outs?
Butta: Oh yeah, I would like to give a shout out to my wonderful husband, Michael Robinson, for always holding it down with my family. Zanobia, my band Satin Rose, GeeGee, KB, Strow, Marc J, and all my fans, and friends who support me. And I would like to give a shout out to Nik-O-Licious and The Heat Magazine. The Heat is definitely keeping it Hot, burning up over there!
The Heat: Lady, we sure are watching you. You have great things going on we wish all the best.
Butta: I almost forgot, I have one more thing. I’m nominated for three different awards for the ATL’s Hottest Award Show. Last year I was nominated for Hottest new artist and I won. This year myself and my band are up for, Hottest Female Artist- Music Performer or Vocalist, ATL’s Hottest Future Superstar, and Hottest Band.
