A friend, a parent
All it takes is to be coherent
Listen to their word
All they want is to be heard
Little voices, big eyes
Tell them no lies
Everything is taken to heart
Give them truth from the start
They believe what you say
Impressionable in the biggest way
Mold them to be strong within
Loud voices, leaders win
Give them more than a ball to bounce
Show them their opinion counts
Seen and not heard
Tells them to be a nerd
Explain “Be yourself”
Greatest of all wealth
Children grow like weeds
Water them quick, plants have needs
One day they’ll be grown
Remembering the love that was shown
While you were on their level
From child to adult, fine tuned bevel-F. Tate
