SEVEN JOHNSON: Making An Appearance at ‘GIRL POWER MOVEMENT’

By now, I think half the world – or more – is aware of and is planning to attend Sunday’s Girl Power Movement at the Fine Arts Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.

And if you haven’t gotten your tickets yet, what are you waiting for? Numerous stars are booked for the event, including the brilliant, motivating, shining star THAT IS DELIVERED in the form of motivational, quinspirational, Seven Johnson.

Seven Johnson is the intelligent being who brings his custom made quotes and motivating literature full circle, in order to impress his wisdom upon the masses for the greater good of the world around him.

That does not even begin to demonstrate the tip of the iceberg of what his in-person charisma does to draw those around him, to him.  The Heat Magazine recently had the opportunity to cover the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival “LIVE”, courtesy of Seven Johnson, & let’s just say, it was a memorable event, for so many reasons!

The Heat Magazine sat down with Seven Johnson to find out the motivating factor behind his involvement with the GIRL POWER MOVEMENT – a movement that again, you don’t want to miss – and here’s what he had to say:

THE HEAT MAGAZINE: Tell us why Girl Power Movement is so important.

SEVEN JOHNSON: I think for many, it will hold a different importance because our young female generation faces more than the previous generations. It’s sad when we have to gear them to grow up faster… Or just learn a little quicker. This what it should mean for everyone as a whole: A CHANCE TO FIND OUT WHAT THEY ARE GOING THROUGH to see what we need to PULL THEM FROM. They need to be heard. They can’t be MADE OF SUGAR AND SPICE AND EVERYTHING NICE when they have FOUNDATIONS OF HURT AND PAIN AND EVERYONE TO BLAME. It’s important to me also because I have daughters that I can’t be around on a daily and most times, a monthly basis, due to distance… So I give to my girls by trying to take away the obstacles from other girls.

THE HEAT MAGAZINE: Why do parents need to get involved?

SEVEN JOHNSON: They need to not only GET INVOLVED, but BE INVOLVED because of what I stated as a few of the important reasons for us to have this event. They need to LEAD BY EXAMPLE so they can LEAD THEIR DAUGHTERS AWAY from the path most have chosen. What can you gain from just sending your child to hear something that you need to absorb with them? It may give a daughter a WINDOW OF OPPORTUNITY to open that DOOR OF HOPE to her parents, which they may miss if they stand on the outside just looking in. This is more than AN ENTERTAINMENT VENUE minute… It’s A “GET INVOLVED WITH YOU” moment.

THE HEAT MAGAZINE: What can getting your child involved with the Girl Power Movement do for her future?

SEVEN JOHNSON: It can do for her future what it will do for her present… CHANGE IT. This is a chance in a lifetime to STOP WHAT MAY BECOME, by CREATING WHAT SHOULD HAVE BECAME. Even when you see the best in her future… Enhance that “best” a bit more. Leave no room for doubt nor back up. Events like these can only make that road to the “future” them a lil better to travel on.

THE HEAT MAGAZINE: Tell us what parents need to do in order to be involved with their children’s lives?

SEVEN JOHNSON: All they need to do is give their kids a little time. Set up “Can we talk” moments. These times have to go past just attending games and practices. It’s more than taking them to the show on weekends. We need to get that one on one to let them know more about us. They need to know we faced the same things they are walking up to. We have to learn how to be delicate in our dictating, but firm in our foundation. We need to get to know our kids all over again.
THE HEAT MAGAZINE: Tell us more about your rant on last week’s radio show, wherein you stated that parents could get involved in their girls’ lives early on, and avoid a lot of the drama they get involved in later on – which in turn, helps to stop a lot of the nonsense we’re seeing from young men.

SEVEN JOHNSON: I did that? I just get answers at the moment for things…LOL. But we are misled by thinking “Not my daughter – Oh she isn’t that type”. We need to become more in tune to them as communicators and not view them as “listeners”. We need to hear them out to steer them right. Our young ladies these days now come from single parent homes. We have mothers who have this attitude that they don’t need the “father of their child”, but they can sure use a good “man for them”. We have dads who know what we know as men, but we are too scared to be hard on our girls – not to chastise or be strict, but to protect and help guide. We fathers are now that “go to” figure when mom becomes that “you can’t” person. When we begin to play this STANDOFFISH POSITION with our girls… We give some ignorant ass young man a STAND UP POSITION in her life. We can’t blame him for PLACING HIS FOOT IN THE DOOR when we have already LEFT OPEN THE SCREEN. We need to show them “love” by FUNCTION…. Not by DESIGN… Not by CREATION… But by FUNCTION. We need to show them early on that they deserve the best later on. It starts right now.
