Sales of Al Green Records Skyrocket After Obama’s Sing Let’s Stay Together

Singer Al Green’s online sales received an unlikely stimulant by President Barack Obama following his surprise rendition of ‘Lets Stay Together’ at the Apollo Theater this month.

Braving just one line of the 1970s single, the president inspired a weekly sales increase of 490 per cent for the track according to Nielsen SoundScan.

‘I’m,’ Mr Obama began the song with a slight vibrato in his voice, ‘I’m so in love with you,’ hitting the high notes gingerly before his cheering New York audience.
