Runaway garbage truck crashes into home

Engineers are trying to figure out how to remove a garbage truck from a Douglasville home without causing the house to collapse.

PAULDING COUNTY, Ga. —

Engineers are trying to figure out how to remove a garbage truck from a Douglasville home without causing the house to collapse.

Homeowner Douglas Peach says he left his garage a few minutes before 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The garbage truck that crashed into Peach’s home was parked on a hill. When the three workers got out, the truck’s brakes failed.

The runaway truck rolled down the street, crashed into a tree, and plowed into the side of Peach’s house.
