PETA asked animal authorities in DeSoto, Texas, to look into the star wideout’s possible illegal possession of a baby capuchin after he shared a snap of the adorable primate named Dallas.
It was not clear whether Bryant actually bought the monkey, though some reports said that he ‘adopted’ it.
PETA said in a prepared statement that baby monkeys was torn away from its mother and that the animals ‘belong in the wild — not in the hands of football players who acquire exotic animals just to make a splash on Instagram’.
The organization said that authorities should ‘please seize the monkey’ from Bryant, who they allege is not eligible for the permits necessary to have a monkey in DeSoto, which require a specific use for the animal.
