Madea’s Big Happy Family opens with Madea‘s niece, Shirley, receiving devastating health news. Shirley begins trying to gather her three adult children around her, and that is when the trouble begins.
In Perry’s usual fashion, the movie centers on relationships, broken marriages, family secrets, and other problems that plague modern day families.
