Hip Hop Newcomer Kershey Pays Homage to Khia On “My Neck My Back” Remix
Singer-rapper Kershey is making her mark on the hip hop scene with a new, spicy “My Neck, My Back” remix. No reason to pull out the gloves, Khia! The release is for promotional purposes only and is available on SoundCloud for free.
2022 makes exactly 20 years since Khia’s release of “My Neck, My Back.” Speaking about the track, Kershey, a Brooklyn native, says, “I was driving one day with my boyfriend at the time and the “My Neck, My Back” beat started playing on the radio and we both started bumping our heads at the same time. That’s when I got the idea to do a remix to the iconic rap song. I intentionally wanted to make my version, not about oral stimulation and other things that a lot of women might enjoy. I don’t think my version is as explicit as the original but it’s still really bold and risqué for me and I still get shy when I let people hear it. I didn’t want my mother to hear it but she loves it and supports me.”
The instructional track from Kershey asks “Hurt my neck. Smack my ass. Daddy, hit it just like that.”
Kershey previously rapped over a track sampling Tupac’s Hit Em Up with her freestyle “Take Money” which garnered over 15k plays on SoundCloud. She also sings and raps with raw emotion on “Black Love” over Wyclef Jean’s “Two Wrongs” instrumental. Stay tuned for more remixes on her upcoming mixtape which will feature popular instrumentals and sampled tracks.
