MEET SLAPP MAKERS PRODUCTIONS AND SO MUCH MORE…TREMAINE “T-MAINE” TURNER

Tremaine didn’t start life out on a very good note. When he was only nine years old his mother abandoned him and three of his siblings. The day this happened, Tremaine became a man. He refused to let the circumstances surrounding him dictate the man he would grow to become.

So, who is Tremaine “T-Maine” Turner? He’s a culinary graduate, he’s one of the major driving forces at Racing for a Cause, he’s part owner of Slapp Makers Productions, and aside from him being the personal assistant to the gorgeous and sexy, Cash Money’s, Karlie Redd, he also manages two rising star rap artists, NYCE and Trak Montana. It was his story of how he came to be the man he is today that drove Nik-O-Licious to pursue finding out more about this man. His life is a story of trial, error, and tribulation that he somehow managed to conquer. Tremaine’s story and his vision he created for himself to succeed, is why Nik-O-Licious wanted to share him with “The Heat” readers.

THE HEAT: So Tremaine, you’re a very busy man. Tell us what’s happening?
TURNER: Nik-O-Licious…everything is everything. You know just trying to make things happen and keep my head above the clouds.
THE HEAT: Your story is remarkable of how you made it through. What was the driving force behind your determination?
TURNER: Just the hunger of wanting something out of life. Today there appears to be a lack of know how in our black community. Taking a step out on faith and understanding that God is the reason I wake up every morning and keeping me motivated as well, that keeps me driving and wanting to do more. I would definitely say God has just kept me through everything and has been tremendous in my life.
THE HEAT: At any point did you ever want to give up?
TURNER: Giving up has never been an option in my life. More than anything just pushing harder. When I go through my ups and downs and my obstacles in life, I take a step back and figure out what is it going to take to get me over this wall. I do understand that life brings different trials and tribulations but that’s just a part of life. I just look towards tomorrow and never give up.
THE HEAT: What’s it like being Cash Money’s hot new sensation Karlie Redd’s personal assistant?
TURNER: You know I came on-board with Karlie earlier this year and it’s been crazy. When I say that I mean Karlie is everywhere. I am honored to be a part of not the Cash Money part of Karlie but the person of who Karlie Redd is. She’s amazing. To get out there and learn different things and everything that’s going on in the industry and not wait on anyone to tell her where to go and how to go get it, speaks wonders about her character and her determination. The way she carry’s herself as a lady demands respect. She’s a woman and I’m a man but she hustles just as hard, if not harder than most men in the industry. I thank God for bringing us together. We feed off of each other. We have a great relationship.
THE HEAT: I’mma call Ms. Karlie Redd and ask her what she’s feeding you.
TURNER: Wing Stop! (We laugh hard)
THE HEAT: Tell us about Racing for a Cause.

TURNER: Racing for a Cause is a non-profit organization in which we raise money for children hospitals and other organizations for abused children. Coming from the circumstances I did as a child, I over-stand the challenges children less fortunate than others endure. I recently became the Co-director because of my work ethics I’ve freely given to this organization. I play a big role at Racing for a Cause. It stands close to me because in my neighborhood, and I’m pretty sure in many other neighborhoods, there are so many children that are being abused. This was something I felt like was a way of me giving back and counting my blessings of having made it to the man I am today.
THE HEAT: What’s most rewarding in your position with Racing for a Cause?
TURNER: To know that I’m making a difference in a child’s life. To show that child there is someone out here in this cruel world that sincerely cares about them.
THE HEAT: What’s going on over at Slapp Makers Productions? Any projects you guys are putting together right now?

TURNER: Slapp Makers is amazing to me. My business partner, Breon “Breezy” Frazier and I have built this company up from scratch in less than a year. The feedback that we got was amazing. We started out as a rap battle or be-slapped battle then we got this buzz from several battle rappers that opened up the doors to do different stuff. Along with Amen Productions, we’ve done the Avalon, one of the biggest night clubs in Hollywood. We’ve done The Highland’s, the biggest night club in Hollywood and even Slap Energy Drink. We’ve done production for the clothing line “Diligent” and a list of other top industry company’s and organizations.
THE HEAT: We know adding to everything else you have going on, you also manage two artist in the music industry. Tell us about them.
TURNER: Trak Montana was the first artist that I actually hand picked. One day he asked me to listen to a song he was working on and I was like wow! Trak is an awesome songwriter, singer and producer. There have been some other artist that have approached me about managing them, but they just didn’t have the package Trak Montana was bringing to the table. I knew he and I would make a great team. Then there’s Nick, “NYCE” Knerr. I’ve actually watched Nick grow up from about nine years old, this is when I was living in Orange, County. He also produces, writes, and dances as well. Just an amazing artist to work with. Nick, that’s what I call him, he’s like my son/little brother, but Nick too has had to overcome many stumbling blocks in life and that makes our relationship even more special. I think they both are going to do great things in the music industry. I am very blessed to have them on my team. I think they’re going to go far.
THE HEAT: So what’s next for Tremaine “T-Maine” Turner?
TURNER: I’m putting together a tour right now for my artist. I want them to get used to being on stage and performing as well as being on the road. Re-formatting Slapp Makers everyday with my business partner Breezy. Working closely with my companies, treating them like infants, making sure everything is being taken care of and running smoothly everyday. Pushing my artist Trak Montana’s single, “Mary Jane” and NYCE’s single, “Keep on Pushing” in the streets. As well as, I have a couple of other business ventures in the making but I’m going to have to come back and talk about them because we had to sign non-disclosure agreements.
THE HEAT: So you got any shout outs before we get out of here?
TURNER: I want to start off by thanking God for giving me the strength and the motivation to push the understanding of wisdom inside of me to keep on going with what I have going on. I want to give a shout out to my girl Nik-O-Licious and The HEAT Magazine. You guys are amazing over there and Nik you are on your grind. Thank you for giving me a chance to outlet my artist and also share me as well with your readers. Big ups to everything you guys have going on. Shout out to Karlie Redd, Breezy and Slapp Makers. Shout out to Amen Productions, NYCE, Trak Montana, and everybody that’s been with me on this long journey. Let’s make it happen! (He giggles that Yogi Bear giggle)

We are very proud of you Tremaine “T-Maine” Turner. Your determination to rise above ALL the challenges that presented themselves to you speaks clearly that you are a success already.
