Meet Reggie Dominique of Perfect Publicity

Reggie Dominique of Perfect Publicity

Reggie Dominique – that’s a name to remember if you are in the entertainment industry.
Reggie is a publicist, handling media affairs for several rising stars, including beautiful singer Coline Creuzot. He not only handles his clients’ affairs with kid gloves, but Reggie makes sure he follows through until the last detail has been attended to, where his clients are concerned.
The Heat recently caught up with this hardworking young man and here’s what he had to say:
THE HEAT MAGAZINE: Tell us about yourself.
REGGIE DOMINIQUE: As a self-starter, I have been recognized as someone with sound judgment and ability to lead a team towards its goal. I have gained valuable knowledge about the field and have developed effective communications skills by leading several team projects to successful completion. Currently a graduating Senior at Texas Southern University majoring in Radio, Television, and Film Broadcasting with a Minor in Journalism, I can say that I have already accomplished a lot at my young age. My communication, negotiation, and leadership skills are well above average as a result of my interactions with very diverse populations and individuals of all ages through various jobs and club affiliations. My motto is, “I am Obsessed with Success!” & I won’t stop until it is mine.

THE HEAT MAGAZINE: Tell us how you got into this industry.

REGGIE DOMINIQUE: I stumbled upon myself in this industry. I always knew I wanted to work in entertainment, but just didn’t know what branch. Once I started college, Radio/TV/Film was my love, but I wanted to learn the ropes of a few other jobs. I started interning at Music World Entertainment, a record company started and run by Mathew Knowles in Houston, Texas. There, I was an assistant to a few a people. I learned how to interview with business clients to gather facts and put these facts into written materials; interpret rules, regulations and policies; plus function positively as part of a team. In addition, I was also exposed to PR & Publicist work with a few more internships I landed. At that point, I built relationships with others just networking and getting my name out there – and I took it from there. Now, today I am building my brand, Perfect Publicity©, as a Personal Assistant/Publicist with a growing clientele day by day.

THE HEAT MAGAZINE: What do you hope to accomplish?
REGGIE DOMINIQUE: The sky isn’t even the limit for my accomplishments. I intend to work my way to the top in this industry by making a name for myself as one of the best Assistants and/or Publicist.  Being from Baton, Rouge, Louisiana, sometimes it is so quick for the world to ostracize you because of the “Southern perceptions”. It is important to think outside of the box and follow your dreams, which is exactly what I intend to do. So far so good.

THE HEAT MAGAZINE: Where will we see your career in the next 5-10 years?
REGGIE DOMINIQUE: In the next 5-10 years, I see so much for myself. Being ambitious is an important trait to have in life; it fuels you & that is what continues to push me to my goals. I would like my radio career to be at a high by that point as well. You will hear me as an On Air Personality soon! I’m sure to be one of the hottest DJ’s on your radio. My clientele will have definitely grown by then as well – more Personal Assistant & Publicist work in the near future.

THE HEAT MAGAZINE: How important is education to our youth?
REGGIE DOMINIQUE: Education is the KEY. You MUST stay focused and determined. I try to out do myself at all times. Challenge yourself. If you did something good the first time, try to do it great the second time! Without education, you can be transparent. So, I encourage the youth – our future – to STAY IN SCHOOL!

THE HEAT MAGAZINE: Do you have any tips for our young readers who may be pondering entry into the entertainment industry?
REGGIE DOMINIQUE: This industry is forever changing. I suggest you start to educate yourself early with a lot of knowledge and get yourself out there. Do not be afraid to show your face, ask questions, network, and market yourself.
EDITOR’S NOTE:  Having worked with Reggie on several projects, we can attest to his professionalism and zeal on behalf of his clients. You’ll be seeing lots more of him in the future. We wish him well in everything he undertakes! To keep up with Reggie, follow him on Twitter – @iamReGGo or on Facebook – www.facebook.com/iamReGGo.
