Police in Pontiac say a 50-year-old man has been booked into the Oakland County Jail for stealing an ambulance and telling authorities he was headed to “see some pole dancing”.
Bryan Kryscio was arrested Sunday night around 11:00.
According to police in Pontiac, they were called to McLaren Oakland Hospital by a Star EMS employee who said they were returning a stretcher to the ambulance when they saw it driving down Perry Street. The employees said the ambulance was left unlocked and running when a man jumped inside.
One of the employees had left their cell phone in the emergency vehicle and police were able to trace it to 14 mile and Ryan in Sterling Heights. Police pulled it over and found Kryscio behind the wheel.
He was arrested and during the drive to jail, he said he was on his way to the “Booby Trap”, a topless bar in Detroit, so he could “see some pole dancing”. Police say Kryscio has a criminal history in Florida for robbery and in Michigan for breaking and entering, possession of marijuana, and trespassing.
He was arraigned Tuesday on a charge of unlawfully driving away of an automobile.
