Louisiana State Police has filed charges against Baton Rouge rapper Lil Boosie related to trying to smuggle drugs into prison. Troopers said Torrence Hatch, 28, and two others were allegedly in the process of trying to get codeine syrup into the Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola.
The other suspects were identified as Titus Franklin, 27, and Arthur Stewart, also 27. All three men are from Baton Rouge.
LSP detectives and the East Baton Rouge Violent Crimes Unit reported receiving information the trio was conspiring to smuggle the Schedule V Dangerous Controlled Substance (CDS) into Angola, where Hatch is incarcerated.
Investigators said Stewart and Franklin made arrangements through an undercover agent to have the codeine delivered to Hatch.
All three men have been charged with conspiracy to introduce contraband into a penal institution.
Hatch was also charged with inciting a felony.
Franklin faces an additional charge of distribution of a Schedule V CDS.
Lil Boosie is being held on a charge of first-degree murder in the death of Terry Boyd.
