K. Michelle Refuses to Open for Lyfe Jennings

Despite most of her fellow Love & Hip Hop cast members attending the BET Hip Hop Awards this weekend, K. Michelle decided to stay in Tampa for a show at the Straz Center. She was supposed to perform with Lyfe Jennings and Musiq Soulchild, but her placement in the lineup irked the singer.

One fan who attended the show said, “I am angry at K. Michelle. She was scheduled to perform in my hometown Tampa, Florida along with Musiq Soulchild and Lyfe Jennings. In the promoters contract she was to perform before Lyfe, but in her mind she felt as though she’s a “BIGGER” artist than him. So she threw a Diana Ross diva tantrum.”

K. Michelle did not end up performing and blocked “half of Tampa” on Twitter when they began angrily tweeting at her. Lyfe Jennings got on Twitter and responded to the situation, saying, “This @Kmichelle is so funny. She don’t wanna go on before me???? Before Lyfe??? Its cool I wish u the best love… We kilt it!!!”

K. Michelle had her own explanation for the incident, tweeting, “I’ve never missed a show a day in my life. I would never stand my fans up period. I was told no by the promoters, he didn’t like my request.” That tweet was unfortunately deleted.

Despite not performing, the singer kicked it with “Basketball Wives” star Royce Reed, who she’s known since college. Check out Lyfe Jennings’ series of tweets on the incident above.
