Husband Commits Suicide By Setting Himself On Fire In Front Of His Wife

A man in Knoxville, Tennessee has committed suicide by setting himself on fire in front of his wife.

Michael D McReynolds, 61, was sitting at home with his wife Anna on 1402 Craig Road when he got up, fetched a canister of gasoline from the garage, went to the front yard, covered himself in fuel and set himself alight.

Dying before his wife could unfurl their water hose, Mr McReynold’s suicide was described as a mystery by his widow as he had never indicated any suicidal feelings and said nothing as he went to kill himself.

I don’t know why he did this and I guess I never will,’ said 51-year-old Anna from her home just off Northshore Drive in Knoxville.

‘What causes someone to commit suicide?

‘He killed himself in front of me, right in the front yard, I saw it happen through the window as it began.
