The Soundclash: New Orleans Premier Beat Battle, Artist Showcase & Networking Event will celebrate its 4th Year Anniversary with the upcoming October 18th show.
The event will be celebrating its anniversary with Grammy Award Winning Producer S1 and Joe Scudda, who will judge the beat battle. S1 co-produced Kanye West “Power” from MBDTF, Beyonce’s “Best Thing I Never Had”, and most recently Jay Z & Kanye – Watch the Throne “Murder to Excellence”. He also has a production deal Kanye West’s Very Good Beats. In addition, S-1 has worked with Babyface, Erykah Badu, Ghostface Killah, Rhymefest, Talib Kweli, and more and is currently working with Kanye West on his new project. He will be accompanied by Joe Scudda, an artist, of Hall of Justus (Little Brother, 9th Wonder, Away Team) fame. Joe Scudda is currently an independent artist that has worked with the likes of Jean Grae, The Legendary Pete Rock, Statik Selektah, Murs, and many more.
The Soundclash was started in October 2008 and has had over 300+ performers local and national performers and several producers in and outside of the New Orleans area. The Soundclash is an integral part of the New Orleans Hip Hop scene and serves as a networking hub for artists, producers, videographers, publicists, managers, engineers, fans, etc. Artists such as Curren$y, Dee-1, 3DNa’Tee, Nesby Phips, who seem to be ready for their national breakout, have all performed at The Soundclash.
The Soundclash is hosted by Wes B and 3rd Mind w/ DJ RQ Away providing sounds for the night. The featured performers are
Smash Bros., 7Skull Mobb, and Real Recognize Real, in addition to the open mic performances.
