Earlier today, we took part in a 5K Walk/Run for the Susan G. Komen Race For the Cure 2012 which took place on the campus of Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
We watched survivors and those who fought the good fight be honored in front of over 10,000 people. We also watched our friend Tammy George, as she interacted with quite a few of today’s attendees.
Tammy is an ambassador for Breast Cancer Awareness. She uses her own story to help others and to show them that through early detection, a difference can be made.
Tammy is a Clinton, Louisiana native who was diagnosed with breast cancer almost 10 years ago. She’s also a living testament to the wonders of early detection and treatment and how the survival rate has increased in the past decades.
