HEAT BEAUTY: The Microlink Magician, a prized miracle worker

Beauty (noun): the quality present in a thing or person that gives intense pleasure or deep satisfaction to the mind, whether arising from sensory manifestations (as shape, color, sound, etc.), a meaningful design or pattern, or something else (as a personality in which high spiritual qualities are manifest); a beautiful thing, as a work of art or a building.

If you ask just about any woman on the planet what is one of the most important features they strive for would be, they would very likely answer “beauty”. Ask any man the same question, and they will probably tell you that beauty is an extremely important quality when it comes to attraction. And you know what else? We have people in and out of our lives, whether it is our teachers, bosses, friends, family, and those with whom we come into contact on a regular basis, but one of the most important of those is the one who can make others see beauty in our outward appearance. It has been said that if you look good, you feel good. There is so much truth in that statement – and those who help others see our beauty have one of the most important jobs in the world. No matter what is going on in our lives, the majority of us will agree that our hair stylists can work miracles for us. Meet Sharon “Shae” Stevenson, affectionately known as “The Microlink Magician”. She works miracles in her Porcelain Doll Salon located in the heart of New Orleans, Louisiana.

Shae has been an expert hair stylist for quite a while, but when it comes to hair extensions, she is a true leader in the industry. As a charismatic Master Stylist with magical hands and a spellbinding, enchanting touch, Shae has the ability to transform her clients into beautiful, confident souls by the mere work she puts in daily. Shae is also an expert educator, often lending her fellow stylists tips and teaching via the classes she gives several times a year. Her Microlink installations are among some of the most stunning in the South. In fact, her Braidless Sew-In technique is in extremely high demand. Suffice it to say, Shae is among the elite in the hair industry. Be on the lookout for some huge things coming from her in 2019 and beyond!

We caught up with Shae (the Microlink Magician) to learn a little more about her. Here’s what she had to say:

THE HEAT MAGAZINE: How long have you been in the beauty industry?

THE MICROLINK MAGICIAN: I have always dipped and dabbled with hair for as long as I can remember but back in 2011 is when I’d say I really started to think it was truly my calling instead of just a dream or a hobby.

THE HEAT MAGAZINE: How did you come to be known as The Microlink Magician?

THE MICROLINK MAGICIAN: Honestly I actually just came up with the name myself. When you look at the before and after process of this type of installation, it’s like magic. It’s a technique that involves tiny micro-links and I create magic right before your eyes. I mastered it and perfected it on my own with hard work, practice and dedication.

THE HEAT MAGAZINE: What sets your services apart from regular weave techniques?

THE MICROLINK MAGICIAN: I’d say the fact that I specialize in healthy Hair Extensions Installation…. I’ve gotten new clients that have come in for a service and they’re most times impressed that my service includes wash and deep conditioner prior to installation. I’ve come to learn that many stylists don’t promote healthy Installations. I’m constantly taking classes and using my down time to perfect my craft.

THE HEAT MAGAZINE: Tell us about the classes you’ll be giving.

THE MICROLINK MAGICIAN: It’s an 8 hour course that entails not only the micro-link technique, but also the major importance of customer service, scheduling and pricing. I also cover branding and marketing this type of service. I’ve given 2 classes so far and I love it. I get to share my craft with other stylists and cosmetology students. I get to make an impact on the life and career of other stylists and this means the world to me.

THE HEAT MAGAZINE: How do you hope to grow your business in the coming years?

THE MICROLINK MAGICIAN: I’d like to expand my salon “Porcelain Doll” as far as location and size. I hope to eventually make a name for myself. I want to make my stamp or should I say, footprint in the beauty industry. I hope to be a well recognized name to many some day. I pray that I continue to grow in my career path and that God continues to guide my way.

EDITOR’S NOTE: We highly recommend the Microlink Magician for all of your hair and extension needs. Whether it is a new style, braidless sew-in consultation and installation, or just about anything else to add to your beauty, she is the real deal!
