SLIDELL, LA (WAFB) – Frightening moments in Slidell on Sunday as a float in the city’s St Patrick’s Day parade collapsed with riders on board.
It happened along Second Street as the parade was rolling through the city just before 1:30 p.m. Sunday.
Crews rushed to the scene and had to work for a while to free a rider trapped in the wreckage. The person will be ok and police say everyone else escaped the float collapse without any serious injuries.
Investigators are now working to figure out why it happened.
