Driving drunk is never a good idea. Experts agree that “buzzed” driving can be just as dangerous. Clearly, this guy was “drunk”.
Officer Eric Hornbacher of the Grand Rapids, Michigan Police Department found a drunk driver sitting in his burning Pontiac Bonneville. Hornbacher asked him, “Are you that drunk that you did not realize that your car was on fire and you were sitting in a burning car?”
As smoke poured from under the hood of the Pontiac, Officer Hornbacher pulled the driver out of the fully engulfed vehicle. As reported by Mlive.com, the police were called to the scene just after 4 a.m. by neighbors. The driver had apparently fallen asleep with his foot on the gas pedal.
The man went to jail afterwards, but is reported to be alright.
