Ragheb Sulaiman, 24, and his younger brother, 19-year-old Nabil
Sulaiman are being held in Miami-Dade County jail after they attacked
Akil Larue Oliver after an argument turned violent last Thursday night.
Two convenience store employees have been arrested and charged with
murder after they allegedly beat a customer to death with a crowbar over
seven cents.
The incident happened at the Quick Stop Food Store located at 9720 SW 168th St.
Around 5:45 p.m., Oliver, 34, got into a shouting match with several
store employees. At one point, witness claimed the angry customer began
shouting racial slurs at the Sulaimans.
“The victim made many insulting statements including calling the clerk a ‘f—– Arab,'” a police report stated.
An off-duty police officer escorted Oliver out of the store, but the
angry man came back and began insulting the store owners again. That’s
when he was hit with a bottle over the head by Nabil Sulaiman.
Ragheb Sulaiman eventually joined the attack and clocked Oliver over the head with a crow bar, which proved to be a death blow.
Police believe Oliver was upset because he felt he was short changed seven cents.
Nabil Sulaiman is charged with aggravated battery and his older brother is charged with second-degree murder. (NbcMiami)
