St. Petersburg police are looking for two suspects involved in a wild shooting incident in broad daylight Tuesday at a liquor store.
One person was shot in the leg and another in the upper body during a brawl at the Lundy’s Liquor Store at 3084 18th Ave. S.
A paramedics truck was also struck with a round likely fired from an assault rifle, police say.
Security cameras captured much of the incident on tape. It details a chaotic scene, as gunmen opener fire around a crowd of people.
According to police, it happened when a fight broke out in the parking lot just before 3 p.m. One man tried to break it up but was struck in the face, so he crossed 18th Avenue S. and returned with a handgun.
The video then shows the man opening fire into the group of people. Kendrick Handy, 22, was shot in the buttocks and Donte Davis, 30, was shot in the left knee, according to police. They are expected to be OK.
he shooting didn’t end there, however. Police say another portion of the video shows a different man grabbing an assault rifle from a nearby Chevy Malibu and opening fire.
Police released descriptions of the two suspects.
The first is described as black, mid 30’s, 5-foot-10 to 6 feet and 230 to 250 pounds. He was shirtless and wearing black, knee-length athletic shorts with black shoes. The second is described as black, in his mid-20s, about 5-foot-9, wearing a block cloth on his head, black shirt and black and white colored shorts.
