It’s official. Carmelo Anthony has signed with the New York Knicks and will play his first game as a Knick this evening again the Bucks. He will be sporting Number 7.
In a news release this morning, the Knicks formally announced that the multiplayer trade with the Nuggets that garnered them Anthony, Chauncey Billups and others in exchange for Danilo Gallinari, Raymond Felton, Wilson Chandler, Timofey Mozgov, and draft picks was completed. In addition, the Knicks also acquired Corey Brewer from the Timberwolves.
Anthony signed a contract extension with the Knicks that will earn him $65 million.
Anthony will meet the media at a news conference at 5:00 p.m. ET on Wednesday.
