The Heat Magazine had an opportunity to sit down with Candy “Junk” Richards. You might remember Candy as she was known from VH-1’s “Real Chance of Love 2”.
Well, let us just dispel any stereotype or misconception that the public may have of Candy. She is intelligent, well-spoken, educated, and very capable of holding her own. Candy hails from Salisbury, North Carolina and grew up in a large family with a Liberian/West African pedigree. Candy earned an undergraduate degree in Mass Communications, worked in radio for over 4 years and is now back in graduate school to further her education.
Reality TV often times objectifies women and may even have what can be categorized as a dumbing down of their intelligence, but we can attest that this is certainly not the situation with Candy. She is so much more than a pretty face and well endowed body.
Candy is an aspiring radio personality who captured the attention of VH-1’s producers because of her great personality and quick wit. She has been featured in Straight Stuntin magazine and several music videos alongside Gucci Mane, Fabolous, Red Cafe and Young Jeezy.
She was also a radio personality in Greensboro, North Carolina at hip hop station 102amz where she also appeared on the mix show with Waleed Coyote a show known as the 10 o’clock Banga.
Here’s what Candy had to say when The Heat Magazine sat down to talk with her:
THE HEAT MAGAZINE: You have quite an impressive resume. What are your plans for the future?
CANDY: I plan to do PR work for athletes, actors and marketing for the entertainment industry.
THE HEAT MAGAZINE: What is your passion?
CANDY: My passion is PR. I love to work in entertainment, whether behind the scenes or in front of the camera. Quite obviously, you can’t judge a book by its cover – a perfect example of just that is Candy. She certainly defies expectation. Check her out when you get a chance and make sure to support her.
