Latifah Shakir and family celebrate the life of highly acclaimed music producer Niyo Davinci. As a celebration of his life, Shakir launches “Niyo Davinci Day”. Niyo Davinci’s posthumous birthday is November 5th.
“Today is Niyo Davinci’s birthday. Let’s celebrate him with tears of joy and pain,” said Shakir.
Niyo was a member of Flight School production team. He was allegedly shot and killed by his girlfriend on April 13 earlier this year.
Shakir has maintained close ties with Niyo’s colleagues. She organized Niyo Davinci Day by urging artists and colleagues to post photos, favorite songs, and memories starting at 6pm on Nov. 5th on social media platforms. She spends several days continuing to preserve her son’s legacy as well as morphing into a spokesperson for her son as it relates to music industry affairs.
Niyo Davinci has worked with Juvenile, Lil Wayne, Kevin Gates, YM Flow, Bonka, Ceaux, Young Greatness, Devious, 5th Ward Weebie, Merk, Fiend, Partners N Crime, and countless other talented artists.
Niyo is also the younger brother of NFL star Ashley Ambrose.
