Toni Braxton has experienced extreme highs and lows in her career, with her lowest point being when she filed for bankruptcy. Despite owning up to her gaping financial mistakes Toni is saying that Oprah Winfrey added to the scrutiny she received after filing for bankruptcy.
Toni makes her revelation during the taping of her upcoming episode of Vh1’s “Behind the Music,” where she claims “[Oprah] was so frickin’ mean to me, I was in shock.”
The “Un-break My Heart” singer continued, “She said, ‘I hear you have Gucci flatware; I’m Oprah Winfrey and I don’t have Gucci flatware…’ You didn’t have Gucci flatware because you didn’t wanna buy it; it’s not because you couldn’t afford it.”
Toni ended the segment, stating “And immediately she made me feel this big. That moment completely changed my career. It made people look down on me.”
The 45-year-old entertainer initially filed for bankruptcy in 1998, but couldn’t recover and was forced to file again in 2010.
