Feuding Brooklyn gangs the Very Crispy Gangsters (VCG) and the Rockstarz have been engaging in a heated gang beef for about three years now. Because they decided to go on Facebook and brag about the shootings and murders they have committed, law enforcement was able to indict 49 gang members from both sides. The New York Times was present at a press conference in which Brooklyn DA Charles J. Hynes and NYPD commissioner Raymond W. Kelly spoke on the matter.
“Because of these individuals’ insatiable desire to brag about what they did, these investigators were able to draw a virtual map of their activities and bring them to justice.”
Commissioner Kelly also stated that after one member of the VCG was murdered, a member of the Rockstarz posted this comment on his Facebook account, “Rockstarz are up 3-0.”
Social websites can get people into some serious trouble if they are not wise about how they use them.
