A Vallejo man residing at San Francisco General Hospital’s psychiatric ward was arrested on his 36th birthday Thursday after he was involved in a fight that left his roommate without an eye.
The man and his 61-year-old roommate were fighting at their place in Vallejo’s Crestwood Manor, a skilled nursing facility, around mid-April about a radio that was too loud.
Both members of the fight are considered to have violent tendencies, according to Vallejo police Sgt. Kevin Coelho.
When police and emergency responders were called, they found the elderly victim with severe swelling in both eyes, but it was not immediately clear that he lost an eye.
Both were separated and taken to S.F. General Hospital until Shelton’s arrest.
