Arrest Made In The Murder Of Phylicia Barnes

Police arrested a man in connection with the death of a Riverdale woman’s missing teenage daughter.

Baltimore police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said Wednesday that a man identified only by name, Michael Johnson, was arrested in the 16-year-old’s death. Guglielmi said prosecutors would release more information Thursday morning regarding the case and arrest.

Barnes’ mother, Janice Sallis, lives in Riverdale.

Barnes was a senior at Union Academy near Charlotte, N.C., where she was expecting to graduate a year ahead of others her age, and go to college
