PayPal VP Eric Salvatierra was killed by an oncoming commuter train in Menlo Park, California. The remains of Salvatierra’s body were confirmed by the San Mateo County Coroner.
The cause of the accident is unknown at this time, but according to the operator of the CalTrain, Mr Salvatierra was standing on the northbound tracks when the accident occurred at about 9:30 a.m. California time.
Mr Salvatierra had worked for Paypal for five years, after eventually being recruited by Ebay, PayPal’s owner. Prior to working as the VP for Paypal, he worked for Goldman Sachs after graduating from Georgetown University.
He leaves behind his wife and his 3 daughters, all under the age of 10. Funeral arrangements have yet to be made, but the family is in his hometown of Phoenix, Arizona mourning their loss.
