80-year-old Charles Manson, the infamous murderer and cult leader who has been incarcerated since 1969 and won’t be eligible for parole until 2027, finally has something to be happy about, for he was recently granted a marriage license to wed his longtime girlfriend, Afton Elaine Burton.
Also known as “Star,” Ms. Burton moved to Corcoran, CA., nine years ago from her previous home in the Midwest, in order to be closer to her love, Charles while he serves his life sentence in Corcoran Prison. Star and Manson have been dating since she was 19 years old, and have managed to build a very strong connection despite his incarceration. They obtained the marriage license on November 7th, which indicates that Manson and Ms. Burton have 90 days to exchange vows otherwise they’ll have to reapply; however, Star claims that they plan on getting married next month.
She spoke to The Associated Press about their love and pending union.
“Y’all can know that it’s true,” she said. “It’s going to happen. I love him. I’m with him. There’s all kinds of things.”
Star has gone on record in the past professing her love for Manson for his views on the environment and the fact that he is always truthful no matter what. She doesn’t seem to be bothered by his 1969 conviction for murdering actress Sharon Tate, and grocers Leno and Rosemary LaBianca, among his many other crimes.
Since news broke of Manson’s pending marriage, many people were alarmed by the news and decided to vent their opinions on the matter on Twitter. Many single lonely souls cried about the fact that the 80-year-old serial killer was able to find a life partner while they are left spending their Friday nights heating up Lean Cuisines, while sadly sipping on a glass of wine and watching a tear-jerking Netflix film all by themselves. Others pointed out the more alarming fact that Manson was able to obtain a marriage license while there are so many gay men and women in America, who haven’t killed anyone, who are still struggling to be given the right to walk down the isle with their significant other.
