50 Cent Begins Mission To Feed 1 Billion Africans Through Proceeds From New Energy Shot Street King

Last month 50 Cent announced plans to feed 1 billion Africans in need over the next five years.

“I want to impact people’s lives more,” he wrote on Twitter at the time. “I’ve set a new goal for myself. I want to feed a billion people in Africa over the next five years.”

Today we know exactly how 50 plans to make that lofty goal a reality.

The G-Unit boss has teamed with Chris Clarke, Founder and CEO of Pure Growth Partners, to develop an energy shot. Part of the proceeds from each shot sold will go towards feeding a child in need.

“50 Cent and I share a common vision: to address the world’s problems through smart and sustainable business models,” Clarke said in a statement to BevIndustry.com. “With the rampant starvation in Africa and hunger afflicting children worldwide, we need socially responsible businesses that affect real change now more than ever. And Street King can set the bar for future generations to come.”

Launching in September, the new Street King shot will range in prices from $2.49 to $2.99 and will be available in Orange Mango and Grape flavors.

The energy shot contains 100 percent natural flavors, no artificial colors and is made with a natural source of caffeine, which is derived from coffee beans, the company says. Each 2.5-ounce shot contains an amount of caffeine that is comparable to a cup of coffee, but contains zero carbohydrates, calories and sugar. Street King’s Grape variety also is fortified with vitamins and gingko biloba.

50 Cent said he’s happy to be on board.

“I’m inspired by [Clarke’s] vision and innovative approaches to tackling serious issues. It’s our mission with Street King to really change children’s lives around the world,” 50 said in a statement.
