A Los Angeles County sheriff's cruiser slammed into two male pedestrians Thursday night after colliding with a second vehicle, killing one man and injuring a second.
WEST HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES (KABC) — A Los Angeles County sheriff’s cruiser slammed into two male pedestrians Thursday night after colliding with a second vehicle, killing one man and injuring a second.
The collision occurred at about 11 p.m. in the 8800 block of Santa Monica Boulevard, about one block away from the West Hollywood Station.
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the sheriff’s deputies had their lights and sirens on and were responding to a felony spousal assault call when they collided with a second vehicle.
The impact of the crash caused the sheriff deputy behind the wheel of the cruiser to lose control, drive up over the curb and hit two pedestrians who were walking on the sidewalk.
One of the pedestrians was pronounced dead following the collision, and the other was listed in critical condition. Their identities have not been released.
