Mary J. Blige will soon be celebrating her 12th wedding anniversary, and she recently explained why she opted for a small ceremony instead of a celebrity, star-studded shindig.
“I didn’t want a bunch of fake…I wanted love there,” Mary told Wendy Williams.
The London Sessions artist, whose 13th album hits stores today, said the intimate ceremony took place at her home with her mom, sister, in-laws and pastor.
Years later, Mary and hubby Kendu Isaacs seem to be as much in love as ever, and she thanked her man for that affection.
“I’m just happy that my man is still with me and he’s had the courage to stay with me. I’m grateful for that,” said Mary who didn’t just talk about the joys in her life.
She’s on the upswing now, but many Mary fans know about the singer’s past with violence and drug abuse. Unlike some celebrities, Mary said she never went to a rehabilitation center to address those issues. She handled it herself.
