Former first lady Barbara Bush spoke about her long marriage to husband George HW Bush during an interview with her granddaughter Jenna Bush Hager at the family retreat in Kennebunkport, Maine.
Former first lady Barbara Bush was surrounded by family on Monday as she celebrated her 90th birthday at the family’s Maine compound.
Mrs Bush told her granddaughter, presenter Jenna Bush Hager, in an interview for Today that she’s had a great life with former president George H.W. Bush.
‘I’ve been the luckiest woman in the world, truthfully. And I know it,’ she said. Mrs Bush met her husband, George HW Bush, at a school dance when she was just 16. She recalled thinking that he was ‘so beautiful’.
But unlike her husband on his 90th birthday, the nonagenarian quashed any idea that she would also be taking a skydive.
