A Memphis recording studio filled with music history was intentionally set on fire Thursday morning.
Just before 4 a.m., fire crews headed to KIVA Recording Studio in the 900 block of Rayner Street.
By 5 a.m., the fire was out. Fire investigators determined someone intentionally started the fire, which caused more than $1.25 million worth of damage.
While putting out the flames, a firefighter hurt his ankle. He was taken from the scene in an ambulance and is expected to be OK.
The recording studio, which has a vibrant history, was empty at the time of the fire. The building was just bought by production company Tattooed Millionaire Entertainment.
